If your child is displaying symptoms of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) it is important that you let the school know as soon as possible. Please contact the school office on 01637 873958. Should you need to report this to us outside of normal school hours, you can complete a secure report form on our website and a member of staff will make contact with you as soon as possible. Visit our website: scminor@kernowlearning.co.uk Please note: Our till system has been down since the beginning of term. This means that your child's meals are not showing on ParentPay. These will be added and charged in due course so please ensure there are sufficient funds on your child's account to cover any meals already taken and any to be taken in the coming week. Thank you.

Free School Meals Letter to Parents

Free school meals

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 at state schools in England automatically receive free school meals under the Universal Free School meal scheme. However, parents and guardians are encouraged to apply for free school meals when they enrol their child in school, as this can help their child’s school to attract additional ‘pupil premium‘ funding to support learning.

From Year 3 onwards, children whose parents are in receipt of the following are entitled to free school meals:

  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseekers Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit.
For details of how to apply you may go to the Cornwall Council website.
