A Warm Welcome From
Natalie Simmonds
We are so very pleased to welcome you to St Columb Minor Academy. Our primary school is situated in the centre of St Columb Minor, close to the beautiful Newquay beaches and our new Newquay neighbourhood of Nansledan.
At St Columb Minor, our children 'Learn to ride the wave of life'. We do this in a number of ways. Firstly, through a strong focus on our values of being ready, respectful and safe. Secondly, by being an anchor in our community. We also like to have a lot of fun and adventures in our learning. We are outside as much as possible!
Our ambitious curriculum is driven by reading high quality texts. We build on children's understanding of our local area, community and sense of self in the Early Years, developing schema and skills so they are well prepared for the next phase in their education.
Our Trust’s Shared Core Values and our Trust Philosophy of ‘work hard, be honest & help others’ are integral to the life of our school. They are central to our mission of ensuring that every child is equipped with the skills and knowledge for them to be successful in whatever it is they choose for their future.
We would really love for you to visit our school and for you to see St Columb Minor Academy in action.
If you would like to arrange a visit, of your have any queries, please contact our school office team on 01637 873958 or send an email to scminor@kernowlearning.co.uk.

At St Columb Minor Academy, we aim to enable our children to fulfil our vision statement: "Learn To Ride The Wave Of Life". Our children can articulate that this means that they have the resilience and problem solving skills to deal positively with the ups and downs that life brings our way.
We use our curriculum, our character education programme and school values to equip our children with the skills, knowledge and virtues to achieve their academic and personal potential.
